PF Coverage Dilemma: Should It Be Based on Factory Location or Head Office?

vijaykallakuri
Sir,

There is a factory located in Mumbai, and their head office is located in Pune. I have a question: should PF be covered for the offices in Mumbai or Pune? Anyone has a circular regarding the coverage of a factory, should it necessarily be from the geographical location of the factory.

Thank you.

With regards,

Head office must be registered, while for branches all over India, where attendance and payroll are maintained for the respective branch, they can obtain sub-codes, which would be attached to the head office code number.

PF will be applicable to the factory assuming the strength of the factory is more than the strength in the office. Based on the information furnished in your online application, duly supported by documents, a code number will be allotted to the factory. Since the majority of workmen and a dedicated HR department will be available in the factory.
