Small HR Team Dilemma: Should I Stick to Manual Registers or Switch to Tally Software?

Radha Pathak
Hello all, my name is Radha Pathak, located in Vadodara, Gujarat. I just started my job in the HR & Admin department at an Electrical Motors Manufacturing Company. Here, we have only 10 staff members, with another 5 members on a contract basis, as well as 2 security guards.

Should I maintain manual registers or use Tally software?

I am wondering if I should maintain all registers manually or if I can use the Tally software we have in place. Is it compulsory to maintain manual registers? I would appreciate any suggestions you can provide.

Thanks & Regards,
Radha Pathak

There is no compulsion to maintain all registers manually; you can also keep computer records.

Proper systems should be in place for the retrieval of computerized records in the event of data loss. Hence, it is advisable to periodically make backup copies of data on a HDD.

Thank you everyone for your reply. But what if any inspector denies and demands manual records?
