PF Contribution Confusion: Do I Face Penalties for Late March Payments?

Shalaka Dhuri
Hi Seniors,

Please guide me on PF Contribution as per the below case: For any new joiner, we processed the salary for two months together in April (March & April) and paid PF contributions on the arrear payment. The current month's contribution is paid on time before the 15th of May. In this scenario, do I need to pay any penalty for the late contribution for March?

Please share any notifications or official references for this situation.

Salary has to be processed in the same month for new joined employees. Similarly, PF contributions also need to be remitted accordingly. In PF records, you are showing the actual date of joining. Please stop this practice immediately. In case of death, the PF department may refuse to entertain claims on the grounds that the employee has not been covered and contributions have not been remitted. You have not mentioned valid reasons for following the practice of remitting PF contributions after two months for newly joined employees.
