Can an Employee Reactivate an Old PF Account After a Career Break for Marriage?

roja293
Good morning! I have recently joined a company as an HR Executive. I have a doubt regarding "PF," please clarify this. One employee has 3.5 years of experience in Testing. She has a PF account in the previous company. For the purpose of marriage, she stopped her work and resigned from that company. After 2 years, she joined our company as a Senior Tester.

PF Account Query

My doubt is: she already has a PF account, so will she continue with the old PF account or open a new PF account? It has been 5 years since she opened the PF account. Is this PF account still active, or should she open a new PF account?

Please suggest a solution for this. I hope to get answers from you.

Thanks,
HR.

New PF account number will get generated in the present establishment, but with the previous company UAN. At the time of registration, input the old UAN and other details such as name, date of birth, and father/husband's name. It will display the details from the old account. Check the same and proceed accordingly.

Check with her whether she has a UAN number or not. If there is no UAN number, you can generate a new UAN number. If there is already a UAN number, then you should use the same UAN number.

In case earlier PF accumulation has been withdrawn by her, then a new UAN has to be generated in the present company.
