Guidance For Writing A Research Paper On Recruitments

RimaGoyal
Hello All,

I have been working in training and placements for the past six years, and I intend to write a research paper on the topic: "Does student training and grooming programs provided by management institutes impact the final selection of students during campus placements?"

I have searched for previous works on this topic and related articles but could not find anything on the internet. How can I write the literature review of the paper? Can I write a research paper without a literature review? Can a case study be written on the same topic? If yes, how should I write a case study?

Please check the websites of top universities and focus on their placements page. Quite a few universities, especially the private universities in India, emphasize the importance they place on placements and how they prepare their students to be successful in campus interviews. You could also review the placement pages of universities abroad, such as universities in Singapore, the US, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. You will find enough information for a literature review. After that, you can plan data gathering and proceed with your research.

Rima,

My view on your task at hand is that you should start with your own company's experience, then proceed to review other counterparts in other companies, including consultants (both individuals and firms). Next, move on to sample surveys taken from users in those companies, and consider views that have been published as well as unpublished. I am certain that you will receive mixed responses. I hope this will provide you with a solid foundation on which to build and decide where to go next. Research, as the term implies, should be conducted through thorough research and not just simple searches. I trust that I have clearly communicated my thoughts on this matter to you.

Campus placement is not made solely on the basis of the candidates' training and grooming standards. Candidates' overall suitability, potential, and subject knowledge play a major role in selection.
