Dear All, I am a little bit confused about Labour Law Acts. I am going to appear in the HR Manager exam in one of the reputed PSUs, and some acts are in my course, such as the Payment of Wages Act, 1936, and the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965. However, I think these acts are old or not in force. When I searched on Google and the Labour and Employment Ministry portal, I found that there are new versions of the acts being shown. For example:
- Payment of Wage Act, 1936 (old) ---> The Payment of Wages (Amendment) Act, 2017 (New)
- Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 (old) ---> Payment of Bonus (Amendment) Act, 2015 (New)
Are both in effect, or only one of them is currently in force? Please provide me with the correct information and a live example.
If a new factory/industry/company opens, which act would apply - the old one or the new one?
