Please let me know the difference between Assistant and Associate from an HR point of view. What will be the differences in the following designations: Associate VP and Assistant VP, or Associate Manager and Assistant Manager, or Associate Director and Assistant Director?

Dear Vinaya,

An Associate Manager holds a higher rank than an Assistant Manager. The position of Associate carries a higher status and seniority compared to that of an assistant.
