Regarding Reliving Letter And FFS Settlement

Experience with IT Company Exit Process

I worked in an IT company for three years. After resigning, I served a three-month notice period as required by the company policy. I followed the exit process properly on my last day. I was orally informed that my relieving letter and Full and Final Settlement (FFS) would be processed after one month.

Follow-up and Communication Challenges

I started following up after 20 days, requesting the relieving letter and FFS settlement. One day after my follow-up email, they replied asking me to come and collect all the documents, but then they canceled the meeting. When I followed up over the phone, they informed me that they needed 45 days for the settlement. In an email, they mentioned that my FFS was in process and they would update me.

Current Situation and Concerns

However, I had already joined a new company and promised to provide the relieving letter after 45 days. Now, my previous employer is causing issues. They also created problems during my resignation. Several police complaints have been filed against this employer by former employees.

Seeking Advice for Resolution

I am uncertain about the time required for the FFS settlement. Whenever I inquire, they cite company policy and do not provide a specific date and time for collecting the relieving letter. They use harsh comments with employees. Please suggest a way for me to collect my relieving letter promptly.

Ingredients of the F&F Settlement

What are the ingredients of the Full and Final (F&F) settlement? Though there is no specific timeframe for the full and final settlement, different components have a certain timeframe (e.g., gratuity is to be paid within a month from the last date of service).

Nature of Police Complaints Against Employers

What do you mean by lots of police complaints have been lodged against the employer? What is the nature of these complaints? Even if such complaints were lodged, the police do not have any power to interfere in matters of employment disputes.
