Functional Job Analysis is different and more practicable than a mere Job Description. While a Job Description instructs a person on what to do, FJA unveils a panorama of possibilities implied in their job. It unleashes their potentialities. Tendering FJA to the employee is more honorable than tendering a JD. When you give a Job Description to someone, they may feel like a menial laborer who is being told what to do, as if their expertise, experience, and education count for nothing, and they are required to follow instructions. Whereas, FJA talks about expectations from them as a leader in their function. FJA allows them room to exercise their wisdom, experience, and education earned, and even their methods if company policy allows. I hope the format shared will be of great use to the fraternity.
