Curious About 2017 Minimum Wages in Manufacturing? Let's Discuss the Basics and Legalities

I would like to know the minimum wages for 2017, including the basic pay and special allowance for the manufacturing industry. Do all types of manufacturing industries have to follow the minimum wages as per the Minimum Wages Act? How many workers or wage earners does the Minimum Wages Act apply to?

The Minimum Wages Act in Maharashtra applies to some 67 scheduled employments as outlined in the Act. Please refer to and verify under which category your organization falls, such as Engineering, Plastics, Electronics, etc. For each industry, separate basic and D.A. are specified based on skill levels, i.e., unskilled, semi-skilled, etc. Dearness Allowance (DA) or special allowance varies every six months. There is no category specifically called Manufacturing activity.
