Is My Employee Eligible for EPFO Pension as He Retires This Month? Seeking Clarity

premavijaybabu
Hi All,
I want to clarify whether my employee is eligible to get pension from EPFO?
• This employee joined the company on 30th April 2003
• His DOB – 22/03/1954
• He attained an age of 58 in the year 2013
• As per our company rules the retirement age is 63 – so he is retiring this month end
• Prior to joining us he had settled his previous PF account – no scheme certificate as well!
Is he eligible for pension or not.

After 2013, did he contribute to EPS or exit from EPS? That is a vital role in calculating the EPS scheme.

Presuming that he contributed to EPS from 2003 to 2013 (10 years), he is eligible for a pension. A minimum of 10 years with some rounding off to 6 months is the eligibility for EPF pension.
