Is It Fair to Terminate an Employee After They've Resigned? Seeking Legal Insights and HR Opinions

solakemcurrenthr
Please, is it right to terminate the appointment of a worker who has already tendered his resignation letter expecting acceptance, but later received a termination letter because he was found creating problems during the notice period given to the company? Is there any legal precedent for this situation? Has the HR manager taken the right step? Thank you.

It is a debatable issue legally. If the resignation is accepted, then the employer should avoid giving termination. However, what if an employee, after resigning, misbehaves with fellow staff, seniors, etc., or there is a gross code of misconduct? In such cases, the employer may be forced to terminate the employee who believes they cannot be terminated and may engage in mischief after resignation.
