Confused About Missing PF Amount: Who Should I Contact When Bank Says Account Was Inactive?

hickoryy
Please advise me as I am in a fog. I submitted my PF form on 16/02/2017. As the amount was not received, I went to the PF office today. However, they told me the amount was credited to my account on 20/02/2017 and provided me with the details of that transaction.

Then I went to my bank branch because the amount was not showing in my account. The manager told me my account is not active because I hadn't used it for a long time. Today, I submitted all the necessary documents to reactivate my savings account and have also started transactions.

To whom should I contact? The PF staff says the amount was credited, and the bank's staff says the amount was not credited.

If the PF department has confirmed that the money was remitted into your bank account, ask them for a certificate carrying transaction details. Write to your bank enclosing a copy of the certificate and copy the letter to the PRO office of your bank. If no action is taken by the bank, file a complaint at :: Grievance Registration Form :: with all the details for a faster disposal of your grievance. Best!

As the bank account was inactive, the bank could not credit the amount remitted by the PF. It will be sent back with a note that the bank account is inactive. Since the process will take some time, you are requested to kindly address your grievance to the grievance cell at the PF office for reprocessing the remittance.

Thank you, guys. Today, I went to the PF office to discuss the matter. They gave me two ASR Forms to fill up and submit, but there is no internet banking option in that form; it only shows Money Order and Cheque. They also informed me that it will take 15 days. Please advise me if this is the right procedure.

A canceled check copy and passbook print should be attached to get the same transfer in the bank account.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you to all my friends for your advice. On the 16th of February 2017, I submitted my PF form to my respective office, and it was credited on the 20th of February 2017. It was the first time. Subsequently, for the second time, I submitted my PF form, i.e., the ASR form on the 1st of March 2017. However, I have not yet received the amount.

Options to Expedite the PF Process

Are there any other options to expedite the process? I am not being emotional, but the truth is I want to celebrate Holi in my hometown in Manipur, where we celebrate it for 5 days. Moreover, celebrating any festival with family is one of the most precious moments in one's life. :) :) :)

Physical processing is almost "zero" now in EPF. Everything is now online; they must have uploaded it online. Right now, the portal is busy in ECR and payments, but withdrawal and transfer cases are processed from the 9th of every month (working days only).

I have submitted the ASR form on 1st March 2017, but it was rejected for the second time. They told me I didn't attach any proof that my savings account is activated. However, at the time of submitting, they didn't mention anything about attaching any documents. I also consulted with the accountant and other office staff who were on the second floor of Wazipur, Delhi.

For the third time, I submitted it on 08/03/17 with an application using the same form (ASR).

It is quite obvious that the PF department will not be aware that the inactive bank account, which was submitted earlier, has been activated now. Hence, demanding proof is logical.
