Labour Law Index
Introduction to Shram-Suvidha

The Unified Shram Suvidha Portal is developed to facilitate the reporting of inspections and submission of returns. It serves as a single point of contact between employers, employees, and enforcement agencies, bringing transparency to their day-to-day interactions. For the integration of data among various enforcement agencies, each inspectable unit under any Labor Law has been assigned a Labor Identification Number (LIN).

Objectives of Shram Suvidha

1) Unified portal for all compliances made to the Chief Labour Commissioner, Director General of Mines Safety, and Central Government.

2) Easy control, including obtaining inspection reports from enforcement agencies online and addressing their queries online.

3) Creating a single identification for the employer across all labor laws. The Labor Identification Number (LIN) provides a unique identification number that supplements all individual license numbers such as the EPFO Employer Establishment Code, ESIC Employer Registration Number, Contract Labor User Registration Number, etc.

4) Ease of compliance, including the maintenance of registers and a single window to file annual returns under various acts, along with a single window for filing EPFO & ESIC returns.
