Is My Employer Supposed to Include Their ESI Contribution in My Salary Restructure?

PradeepNM
Hi all,

Recently, due to ESI changes, I got my salary restructured. However, in the restructure, I noticed that ESI paid by the employer is also included in my salary. Is this correct? Because as far as I know, only the employee's share (1.75%) should be deducted, and the employer's share (4.75%) should be borne by the company, right? Please suggest to me.

Thanks
Glidor
The issue is between the employer and the employee only, and it happens only due to CTC packages. Employees can discuss the issues with their employers on the issue.

Now you are saying it is restructured, which means changed. If the employer is deducting anything from you beyond 1.75% that you need to bear on the old salary structure, they are wrong. You can lodge a complaint with the ESIC department along with the labor commissioner.
