Leaving a Job Early: How Can I Avoid Paying the Notice Period Penalty?

praneethnithya
Hi, I signed a contract bond of agreement that I will leave the company with a 3-month notice period due to personal problems. However, I am leaving the company after working only 1 month, so the employer is asking me to pay 2 months' salary. Kindly suggest what I should do to avoid paying them. Please help me out.

If you agreed to serve a notice period of 3 months, then you are supposed to serve a 3-month notice period or pay the equivalent amount. Otherwise, simply convince the management using your own skills.

Legally, no respite! If you have a justifiable reason causing you a forceful resignation, it can be evaluated. Best would be to speak with your manager and try to find out some means to reduce the notice period.

Best wishes.
