Struggling with ECR Upload Error for Backdated Payments: How Can We Fix This?

kiranjadav38
Sir, I am encountering an error when generating and uploading a TXT file for ECR. The error message displayed is: "ERROR: UAN: This UAN is not linked to your establishment." It was found on line numbers: [1-29]. Following an EPFO inspection of our organization, we were instructed to pay contributions through ECR for a non-enrolled employee from April 2015 to May 2016. We have already made payments for five months prior to December 17, 2016, using the old EPFO site. However, we now need to pay for the remaining nine months. Despite this, we continue to receive the same error message.

Our HR consultant informed us that this error message is related to the Date of Joining (DOJ). We enrolled the employee in April 2016, but we are unable to make payments for September 2015, October 2015, and March 2016 for the same employee. Is it possible to change the Profile/DOJ? Please guide us on how to resolve this issue and generate the ECR and ECR Challan. Our location is in Pune, India.

Based on the error message you are receiving, it seems there may be an issue with the Date of Joining (DOJ) associated with the UAN of the employee. Here are the steps you can take to resolve this issue:

1. Please verify the employee's UAN and DOJ in your records. Make sure that the UAN is correctly linked to your establishment and the DOJ is accurate.

2. If the UAN and DOJ in your records are correct, you should contact the EPFO helpdesk. You can reach them via email at employeefeedback@epfindia.gov.in or through the helpline number 1800 118 005.

3. You may need to provide details such as the employee's UAN, DOJ, and any error messages you have received. They should be able to guide you on how to rectify the error.

4. Once the error is rectified, you should be able to upload the ECR and generate the ECR Challan.

Remember, it's crucial to ensure that all employee details are accurate and up to date in the EPFO portal. Incorrect information can lead to errors like the one you are experiencing.

Also, keep in mind that if there are any changes or updates to an employee's profile, such as DOJ, you should update this information in the EPFO portal as soon as possible to avoid similar issues in the future.
