Legal Framework for IT Companies in India
There are many aspects to consider because you mentioned an IT company. Many states have exempted IT companies from the purview of the Shops and Establishment Act; Karnataka is an example. However, there are acts that apply, such as the Weekly Holiday Act of 1942 and the Industrial Dispute Act.
One thing we often forget is the international labor standards that have the force of law in India via the United Nations Act, along with various charters. I have been compiling such laws that apply to the IT industry, and in a few days, I will post them.
