My name is Arun Kumar, and I am currently working at Genpact India Pvt as a Senior Associate. I am currently serving my notice period, with my relieving date set for 27th March 2017. Interestingly, my future company's joining date is also 27th March 2017. Both the relieving and joining dates coincide. I am wondering if it is possible to join the new company on the same day.

Yes, it's possible. If you are getting relieved in the forenoon at your previous organization, you can join the new organization in the afternoon.

Yes, as Mr. Kannan said, there are a few candidates who join the new employer on the same day of getting relieved from their present company, provided their relieving formalities have to be completed before noon.
