Can a Village Panchayat Ward Member Keep Their Job with Us? Seeking Your Advice

I am working in Himachal Pradesh. One of our employees is a ward member of the village panchayat. Is it said that one is eligible to continue his employment with our organization? Seeking your suggestions.

I don't think that any employee other than a government servant is debarred from contesting elections, including those of local bodies. However, if their contract of employment or the service regulations of their organization prohibit such actions or holding any honorary public office, such as that of a ward councillor, then they cannot do so while in service.
