If one member does not have a UAN, how can we file ECR? The error is: "Error UAN: Invalid UAN value found on line numbers: [396]. Due to this validation failure, dear members, please help me rectify this.

Invalid UAN or error UAN emerges only if the data is provided incorrectly. Show the same to the employee and ask for reasons. Without it, he or she can be excluded from the ECR list of the month.

I have downloaded the "Active Member Details CSV" file from the EPFO portal. For many employees, it is showing either incomplete data or "NOT AVAILABLE."

How can I complete it? Is there an option to upload all correct entries through the portal via an Excel file? Please advise.

Also, please advise on what to do when an employee joins (and their UAN is not available) - how can we upload their returns as the ECR is UAN-based now? The same query applies to resigned employees - how do we show their exit?

Hi Purva, the error is found as the employer has not completed Annexure II of missing details in the old portal. Now, the employer has to write to the EPFO regarding the correct values of the missing details. They will update the same within 2 weeks. Missing details do not have any direct relation with the ECR filing.

Steps to Add New Member

For new entries, collect all KYC documents and go to "Add Member." Fill in all details and the KYC documents (Aadhaar/PAN/Bank details, including ISFC code) at once, including the mobile number and gross wages per month.

If the member has an old UAN, click on "Existing Member" at the time of adding and mention the old UAN. After successful addition, check the details in "Pending for Approval." If found correct, approve; if found incorrect, then edit and approve.

Please note that this data is non-editable at a later stage anytime.

UAN Allotment and Verification

After approval, the department will allot UAN upfront for filing ECR of new members. It takes a little time to get verification from PAN and Aadhaar sites, but once verified, it is permanent. The new system has reduced erroneous KYC seeding and rectification, as erroneous documents would get rejected automatically.

"EPS Contribution Remitted should be equal to the rounded sum of 8.33% of EPS Wages and 1.16% of the EPS Wages above 15000/-. This error was identified on line number 32."

By making these adjustments, the message is clearer and more grammatically correct.

If three members file ECR, due to this validation fails. Dear Members, please help me in rectifying this.
