Look at your salary slip; there must be an EPF account number. Also, annual accounts from EPFO are provided to every employee in Form 23.

Thank you, U.S. Sharma. However, I do not have any details except the above. Can you please help me with more options? What do I have to do for Form 23? Is there any way to get my PF number?

Understanding Form 23 and Tracing Your EPF Account

Form 23 is an annual account slip sent by the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) to the establishment for distribution to employees. This allows them to know how much balance they have in their account and how much interest is credited.

If you have any co-workers, the establishment details can be found with them. You can approach the Public Relations Officer (PRO) with the company details to trace your account number. They would need the date of joining, date of leaving, date of birth, and the document you provided for EPF registration, such as a voter ID or PAN card, so that they can search their database.

First, you should refer to your payslip to check whether PF has been recovered. If PF has been deducted, then you should contact the relevant PF office PRO. Bring along your offer letter, date of joining (DOJ), date of leaving (DOL), relieving order copy, and service certificate.

If the company has submitted Form 5 and Form 10 to the respective PF office, you will be able to obtain your PF number and check your PF balance with the assistance of the PF PRO assigned to your case.
