New HR Dilemma: How Should I Handle Employee Dues and Labor Office Queries?

Hiring Doctors and Medical staff
Hello all,

I am facing a new issue as two employees have notified me to pay them their pending dues, but no one has replied to them. I have recently joined the company as the new HR.

How should I proceed to answer this and should I respond to the labor office? If I respond, then how?

Without knowing the exact state of affairs (before your joining) and also the content of the letters of two employees, as well as the content of the notice/letter from the labor office, it is not at all possible to suggest anything legally on assumption. If the dues of the employees are legitimate, it is better to clear such dues at the earliest to avoid further complications.

The letter is against the organization for not paying the salaries to the employees after they left the company. The labor office has requested to settle the outstanding payments within 10 days. How should we respond to them?

1. Should we notify the labor office after making the payments?
2. Or should we first arrange a meeting with the labor officer?

Kindly advise.

Please make the payment to the employees through a check and send it by post. Also, send a letter enclosing a copy of the check stating that payment to the employees has been made. Make sure all the letters are sent by registered or speed post. Keep a copy of the online tracking and bank details after the check is cashed.
