Is It Necessary to Open Both ESI and EPF Accounts Together? Seeking Guidance

I want to create my new ESI account. Along with that, is an EPF account also mandatory to create, or can we create only ESI? Please help me get an answer for this.

The eligibility criteria of PF & ESI are different. Kindly go through the Act and decide, or else, provide the forum with all the details so that we can assist you.

As advised by Saji, it's not mandatory. As per the applicability, you need to register.

Applicability for PF
• Every establishment that is a factory engaged in any industry specified in Schedule 1 and employs 20 or more persons.
• Any other establishment employing 20 or more persons, which the Central Government may specify by notification in this behalf.
• Any establishment employing even less than 20 persons can be covered voluntarily under section 1(4) of the Act.

Applicability for ESI
Is extended in an area-wise manner to factories using power and employing 10 or more persons, and to non-power using manufacturing units and establishments employing 2 or more persons.
