What the 170th ESIC Meeting Means for Wage Ceilings and Employee Benefits

Please be informed that the latest update on ESIC is as follows:

The 170th Meeting of ESIC was held under the chairmanship of the Honorable Labour & Employment Minister, Shri. Bangaru Duttatray. Many issues were decided in the interest of IPs, including notifications on the enhancement of the wage ceiling from ₹15,000/- to ₹21,000/-, which will be finally implemented with effect from 01.01.2017.

All vacancies will be filled within two to three months, and doctors' superannuation age will now be 65 years.

The ceiling of medical expenditure will now be ₹3000/- per IP for ESIS. An Autonomous Body/State Corporation will be constituted.

Contract or outsourced employees will receive wages as per the Honorable Supreme Court order dated 26.10.2016 in Civil Writ Petition No. 213/2013. If any member of this group has a copy of the order, please do share it for the benefit of the team.
