Concerned About F&F Settlement: Do I Need to Submit a Signed Hard Copy to My Former Employer?

BurhanP
I was working as a design engineer in an MNC. I got my F&F settlement form in which deductions in salary were mentioned. I have received the balance amount and the soft & hardcopy of F&F. Is there a need to sign it and submit it to the organization?

Other formalities are done, but only the PF withdrawal is remaining. I am afraid they want to recover more money from me. Will it affect my PF amount? Can I avoid going back to the office to submit the F&F form since I have already received a copy?

For PF withdrawal or transfer, you have to visit the employer to get the form completed. PF is not in the hands of the employer but in the hands of the provident fund office, where they can only attest your claim for withdrawal or transfer.

I appreciate your response. I have submitted the PF withdrawal form to the HR department. Is there a need to submit the F&F settlement form to the organization? I have received the soft as well as hard copy.

Hi,

There is no harm in submitting the F&F to your last employer if you don't have any specific reason to hold back. PF withdrawal is not in the hands of your employer and can be easily taken out. Legally, the employer cannot hold back the PF withdrawal of an ex-employee.

I would suggest you submit the F&F Settlement form to your employer. As you are afraid, they can't deduct anything from PF.

I feel if you don't submit, it may delay the PF form process as the employer may think that the F&F formality is pending.

I am not clear as to what the problem really is. You have received the money in settlement, and you have the F&F letter. So, what is the actual issue? Why would submitting a signed copy as acknowledgment be a problem? If there was money due to the company from you, would they even have given you the balance money? What is the real problem?
