Navigating Compliance: Which Forms to Follow Under Factories Act 1948 vs. Karnataka Rules?

Dear Sirs,

I am new to the HR field. Our company has given me the opportunity to work in the legal department. We are located in Bangalore, Karnataka.

My question is, under the Factories Act 1948, we have to maintain a lot of registers and forms. Additionally, the Karnataka Factories Rules also contain many forms and registers. In this scenario, which rules should we follow? For example, Form 6 under the Factories Act 1948 is different from Form 6 under the Karnataka rules.

Please assist me in this matter.

Dear Chethan,

Your question is not clear. Rules are framed only with reference to and in tune with the provisions of the Act. If the Act is a skeleton, rules are the flesh and skin to make it more functional and to give it a definite shape.

I don't think there is any Form VI prescribed under the Factories Act, 1948. Maybe you are confused with something else.

May I know what the frequency of mock drills is in the industry (full building evacuation) as per the Karnataka Factories Act and Factories Rules?

Please note that there is nothing called "Karnataka Factories Act." The Factories Act is a Central Legislation.
