I am working in a steel plant as an executive in Gujarat. Can you tell me what HRIS and MIS are? Are they important in the HR field? Kindly provide information about this.

MIS is broad-based, covering every piece of information needed by management to make strategic decisions and planning concerning the organization, such as organizational structuring, business expansion, budgeting, etc. HRIS is more specific, relating to the HR field, and covers manpower data, salary administration, records management, training needs analysis, PMS, and other processes. This is how I understand.
