How Does the 2016 EPF Amendment Affect Unclaimed PF After Retirement?

Dear Seniors/HR Fraternity,

Here is the notification dated 11.11.2016 amending para 726 of EPF Scheme. After this Gazette of India (EPF Scheme), now unclaimed PF amount will be transferred to an inoperative account only after retirement from service after attaining the age of 55 years or after migration abroad permanently. Find the attached file of the Gazette.

So, will it continue to earn interest even after 3 years of non-contributing?
