Difference Between Emergency Plans and Disaster Plans
Emergency plans and disaster plans are not the same; they are separate entities.
The disaster plan is a systematic set of procedures that clearly detail what needs to be done, how, when, and by whom before and after an anticipated disastrous event occurs. It is focused on natural calamities.
The emergency plan is designed to save human life, property, systems, equipment, plant and machinery, and the environment, and to minimize loss in case of an emergency. It focuses more on human errors. An emergency plan can be a part of a disaster plan.
