Minimum wages for Jharkhand State have been revised, effective 01.10.2016, due to an escalation in the respective V.D.A.'s. The Revised Wages are as follows: Unskilled - 268.96, Semi Skilled - 280.88, Skilled - 375.97, Highly Skilled - 427.13. I have provided the new wages for your reference. Basic wages were notified in the circular dated 26.08.2015. You may find the same information in my other thread. VDA is generally revised every six months. To calculate today's basic wage, you can add the VDA to the base wage.

Basic wages are subject to periodic revisions. In Jharkhand, the basic wage was revised effective 16.06.2011 and 26.08.2015, respectively. Until the new basic wage is identified, you should continue adding only the VDA.

Dear Sir,

As per Notification No. 1551 dated 26.08.2015 of Jharkhand, the revised minimum wages for unskilled workmen (contract labor) is Rs. 251.92 per day. If we add 7.11% VDA as per Notification dated 01.10.2016, the total wages calculate to Rs. 269.83 (against Rs. 268.96 appearing in your post). It will be helpful for us if you can share your calculation for resolving this discrepancy.
