I am an IT manager in an MNC. I was looking for an internal transfer to shift back to my home location. I am getting an opportunity as an IT Engineer in the same company. Should I accept this offer?

Decision on Career Move: Manager to Engineer

It is purely at your discretion to choose the best option. As you mentioned that you currently hold a manager position, just because you have the opportunity to relocate to your hometown, you are considering accepting the position of an engineer. Don't you think you might be downgrading your position level and the amount of work you are currently handling? My friend, you should strive to elevate your position level and enhance your knowledge in your field rather than accepting a lower role.

Stay focused on your goal. If you have planned for it, don't you aspire to become a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in a multinational corporation? Being homesick might hinder you from achieving your desired objective. Remember, to gain something, you sometimes have to make sacrifices.

Ultimately, it is entirely your decision. You are the best decision-maker of all.

Thanks
