Meal Time And Work Hours

Was wondering if meal times are considered as work hours or not? 8 hours of work includes 0.5 hour of meal time or is that separate?

Meal time (0.5 hr) is separate then 8 hrs duty. In factory act, it is clearly mention that you have to give 0.5 hr lunch break between 8 hrs duty. so any employees duty count as 8.5 hrs normal duty hrs.
