Are Meal Times Counted in Your 8-Hour Workday? Let's Discuss How It Works

I was wondering if meal times are considered as work hours or not. Does the 8 hours of work include 0.5 hours of meal time, or is that separate?

Mealtime (0.5 hr) is separate from the 8-hour duty. In the factory act, it is clearly mentioned that you have to give a 0.5 hr lunch break between 8 hours of duty. So, any employee's duty counts as 8.5 hours of normal duty hours.
