Understanding PF and HRA Deductions: How Do Working Days and Metro Cities Affect Them?

Dear all, please share what the rule is for PF deduction of an employee depending on the number of days he worked in a month. Is the PF deduction fixed irrespective of the working days in the month, or is it variable? Also, share what the criteria are for HRA deduction in metro cities.

How can the PF deduction be fixed if the employee has only worked 1 day? In such a scenario, he/she must not be earning even the PF contribution. Hence, it is always calculated based on the earned days.
