Is an Effluent Treatment Plant Necessary for Disposing of DM Wastewater? Seeking Clarity

I am working in a private company as an HSE officer. I have a doubt, please clarify: is it required to have an Effluent Treatment Plant if we want to dispose of DM wastewater?

For any water consumption industry, obtaining permission from the local pollution control board is mandatory. The applicable licenses are C.F.E - Consent Order for Establishment and C.F.O - Consent Order for Operation. I hope your factory has both licenses.

Please refer to the conditions mentioned in your license for treatment methods permitted for disposal to the CETP (Common Effluent Treatment Plant). If no licenses are available, kindly contact your local pollution control board authorities for further clarification.

Sulfuric acid (H2SO4), HCl, and NaOH are used for DM plant resin regeneration. This system rejects water, which is then converted to effluent. Therefore, obtaining ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) and PCB (Pollution Control Board) approval is mandatory.
