Sir, the Central Government, being the appropriate authority, has issued the FINAL NOTIFICATION dated 06/10/2016 under the ESI Act, 1948, specifying a separate rate of contribution in respect of newly implemented areas. A copy of the said draft notification is uploaded below for the kind information of members of this forum.

What is the meaning of newly implemented areas under ESI scheme? The main unit was under ESI coverage, as it is covered under the act. As per the new amendment, another unit was in a non-implemented area. According to the amendment, it is also covered on the date of implication. Will the new rate of contribution affect the newly covered unit? Please clarify.
