Draft Notification For Enhancement Of Wage Ceiling In ESI Act.

Sir, the Central Government, being the appropriate authority, has issued a draft notification dated 06/10/2016 under the ESI Act, 1948, for the enhancement of the wage ceiling to Rs. 21,000/-. A copy of the said draft notification is uploaded as follows. However, it is mentioned that this is only a proposal or draft of the amendment, and the final notification is scheduled to be issued by the government after following the procedures as laid down in the notification.

As per my understanding, the comments on the draft have to be sent by post ONLY. Is this correct? Also, I could not find any internet link related to this amendment on the Labour Ministry website. If any link is available, please share.

In my last thread, I had raised the question of the rule of allotment of Insurance Number within ten days. If the notification is enforced from October 1, 2016, it would be a breach of law. Currently, the notification has not been enforced yet, so we cannot obtain the Insurance number. Should we get the Insurance number of those persons who are expected to become members under the scheme?

The notification is in the draft stage and not in force. The draft has been published to invite suggestions or objections from the public.
