Navigating CL/SL Policies in Tamil Nadu: How Do Manufacturing Industries Handle It?

Hi friends,

I have doubts regarding CL/SL. Are there any details available in the Factories Act for Manufacturing industries? How can we draft a policy for providing CL/SL for Manufacturing industries since the Shops & Establishments Act is not applicable in Manufacturing industries/Factories?

Hi,

Factors act will be applicable to PL only. For CL/SL, you have to refer to the Model Standing Orders as per my understanding.

Hi,

In factories, only CL and PL are applicable as per the act. The minimum CL should be 5 days, and PL should be only eligible if 14 days are worked, with 1 day being eligible.
