Resigned and Rehired: Do I Need to Fill Form 11 for My PF Account Again?

Sunnynit
I resigned from Company A in January 2016 and then I withdrew my amount from the PF account. After 8 months, Company B offered me a job. I am informing them that I am still working with Company A. Is it necessary to fill out form 11, or can I refuse? Can I ask them to open a new account linked with my UAN number?

Form 11 is mandatory for new as well as old accounts; otherwise, the employer cannot validate your account.

Yes, of course. Tell them that you have already withdrawn the previous PF amount or are going to withdraw the amount for personal purposes (you should have a good relationship with HR if you mention the second reason).

You can provide Form 11, stating that you are not a member of PF and apply for a new UAN. They will treat you as a first-time employee. This unofficial option is currently available. The PF department is in the process of linking Aadhaar details nationwide, but the implementation of this process has not yet occurred. Once it is implemented, this option may no longer be possible.

One Employee and One UAN is currently under implementation (not yet fully implemented).
