Has the EPF Ceiling Increase to Rs. 21,000 Been Officially Announced Yet?

Can anyone please let me know whether the Gazette notice on EPF new ceiling, i.e., Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 21,000/-, has been released?

EPF has no such news. However, ESIC is expected to raise the ceiling, but the notification is expected by 1st of October 2016.

Yes, Mr. Jeevarathnam, but the authority is also speaking about the ESI contribution rate, i.e., it is reducing it to 4%. So, is there any gazette notice on this?

True. Even that is in discussion more, and that too not with all the locations. It is applicable for the locations where ESI has been implemented recently, and not for other locations.

EPF is not going to raise the maximum slab of Rs. 15,000/- as of now.

ESI contribution is reduced in very few newly implemented regions, that too only for a few months.

Salary ceiling limit enhancement under both ESI and PF is only news, and so far, no Gazette notification has been issued.

Hi All,

ESIC ceiling has only been increased from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 21,000/- w.e.f. 01.01.2017 (with Gazette Notice 27/12/2016 No: X-14/11/1/2015-P&D). However, EPF ceiling increase is still under discussion and may be raised from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- soon.
