Facing UAN Linking Issues Due to Date Discrepancies: How Can I Resolve This Without Jeopardizing My Current Job?

alluri123
Hello, presently I am working at Company X. The current HR asked for my old UAN details. He mentioned that he will link the present member ID to the old UAN. I worked at Company Y for 9 months. However, in order to reach 1 year, I created 3 additional months of payslips and submitted them to my current company upon joining. My actual date of exit from the previous organization was March 29, 2014, but I provided June 30, 2014. Additionally, I terminated my 2-year bond with my old organization by leaving the job after 9 months.

Now, the HR mentioned that linking my present PF ID to UAN requires approval from the previous organization. They are hesitant to approve due to the discrepancy in the existing dates provided to the current organization. Can anyone provide guidance on how to resolve this situation without causing any issues in my current job?

Give actual dates in form 13 and submit the form manually after approval from the old company. As the old company record matches with your form 13, they will not delay the form. Under electronic transfer, the form is visible to both companies. In this way, the transfer will be done, and your new company will not know the date of leaving your establishment; only your UAN number will be provided to them to add your previous EPF account.

Dear, you are telling to submit Form 13 after approval from the old company. But how will my old company approve without matching the date of leaving? My HR has already taken UAN and submitted the transfer, but now my question is how my company will approve without matching the date of leaving. My present company's HR entered 30 June 2014, but my old company's records show 29 March 2014. Can you explain in detail?

How to submit form 13 manually? To whom do I have to submit it - to my past organization or current organization?

Please advise on the appropriate submission process.

Steps to Resolve UAN Linking Issue

1) Your present employer has only linked the UAN and has not submitted Form 13 (transfer claim).

2) Fill out a manual claim with the exact data of the previous company, including the exact leaving date (29th March 2014). Part C may be filled or left blank at the time of endorsement by the previous employer. Fill the date of joining in Part C as actual.

3) The previous employer will endorse the same (no need to produce Form 13 to the present employer).

4) Submit the Form 13, duly signed by the previous employer, to the EPF office of the previous employer and obtain a dated acknowledgment.

5) EPFO will transfer the funds linked with your UAN to the new EPF account. This transfer will not be known to the new employer; they will only have the linked UAN.

Dear [Name of Recipient],

In front of me, they filled in some forms about the date of leaving, UAN, father's name, PAN card, and bank details. I don't know why they filled them. Can you tell me one thing? Without my acknowledgment, will my present employer apply for the transfer of the previous ID? Also, can you confirm if the present employer is only eligible to link the UAN?

Thank you.

What is Form 11? I signed a form at the time of joining. With Form 11, can the present employer do anything?

Please tell me how my present employer will link the new PF account to the old UAN. What is the process?

Understanding Form 11 and UAN Linking

Form 11 is used to enter data into the employee record, such as name, relation name, date of birth, sex, and UAN data if there is any previous employment. You can provide the data by mentioning the old UAN, which will help your employer link your account to your own UAN if you already have it.

If you wish to follow the procedure I mentioned, you can leave the Date of Exit (DOE) blank; just the UAN is enough. However, if your old UAN is linked with Aadhaar, bank, and PAN, then providing the Date of Joining (DOJ) and DOE in previous employment will automatically file Form 13 by the system.

It is assumed that if you left your job in March 2014 and no KYC is linked to your UAN, the automatic filing of Form 13 is not possible through your present employer (as the KYC system came into existence in July 2014). They can only attach your UAN, and it doesn't matter whether the date is March 2014 or June 2014; it only confirms the UAN. If they encounter issues, file Form 13 manually first. Once it is received at your UAN portal, you can ask them to link it; at that time, it will only require the UAN number.

Issue with UAN Activation and Mobile Number Update

HR has given me my UAN details, but when I visit the link for activation, after filling in all the details, it gets stuck at the PIN request stage. Despite multiple attempts, there is no progress. I mentioned my mobile number, but I am not receiving the PIN details on my mobile. After inquiring with HR, they mentioned that my mobile number was previously used by another person and is still active in their account. However, I have been using the same number for the last two years.

Please suggest how to update it so that I will receive my PF information on my mobile and be able to activate my UAN. It's been almost one year.

Dear, I just checked the UAN status of my current PF ID. It was showing that it was under process. After logging into my old UAN, it only displays my name, company name, date of joining, and date of leaving, which shows as NA. So, there shouldn't be any issue for me in linking my current ID to the old UAN. Now, my present employer cannot see my old leaving date. Does my present employer require old employer approval to link my current PF ID to UAN?

@Alluri123,

One employee has to be allotted only one UAN number, irrespective of the number of employers. All accounts should be clubbed to the present account with this site: [One Employee One PF](http://oeoea.epfoservices.com/UANDEDUP/).

Please fill out form 11 and hand it over to your current employer. They can manually enter the leaving date.

Process for Linking an Old UAN to Current PF ID

Can you tell me what the process is for linking an old UAN to my current PF ID? Will my current employer approach my past employer for approval to link the UAN to the present ID? As I mentioned earlier, I resigned in March 2014 and submitted fake details for three more months in my current company, until June 2014. My employer has already obtained the old UAN and Form 11 from me. In Form 11, I provided my UAN number and mentioned my leaving date as June 2014. If my current employer requires approval from my past employer to link the UAN to my present ID, there may be an issue as the leaving dates differ, and my past employer might not approve. The UAN status currently shows that it is in process.

I have replied multiple times to submit your claim manually. It will get transferred; therefore, the date of leaving would not matter. The employer team is also not concerned about the 2014 data because you have exceeded 1 year of service in the present employment. So, whether it's March or June does not matter now.

Once the claim is settled after the submission of Form 13 manually, you can link it with your own account on this site: http://oeoea.epfoservices.com/UANDEDUP. Incorrect data feeding will block your previous account if not transferred.

Please find the corrected text with proper spelling, grammar, and paragraph formatting:

User input: http://www.epfindia.com/site_docs/PD...DFs/Form13.pdf

Fill the form accurately and get it attested by your "previous employer". Submit the completed form to your previous employer's EPFO office. They will credit the proceeds to your current account. As per the citizen's charter, they are required to complete this process within 30 days of submission.

Once your account is credited in your passbook, you can visit the One Employee One PF site and link your current EPF with your UAN. Your employer will only need to approve the linking process.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

After sending Form 13 manually and receiving approval from the previous employer, they will send it to the regional commissioner. From there, it will go to my current PF trust. So, in this process, will the regional commissioner ask for any approval from my current employer? In this case, my leaving date will be known by my present employer.
Glidor
EPF will confirm Part C from the present employer and not Part B.

Dear [Name],

I am facing the same problem as you. I have to join a new company next month. In my PF portal, the Date of Entry (DOE) is March 16. Please tell me what to do.

Thank you.
