Seeking Advice on Choosing the Right University for HR Specialization – Is My Decision Sound?

sumiv
Dear All,

I am new to this site and have found it very informative. I have 3 years of experience in HR and have completed my MBA in Finance. Therefore, I believe to advance in this field, I should opt for an HR specialization. Please suggest to me for the same. I have two universities in mind - ICFAI and Symbiosis for distance learning. Could you recommend any other good universities?

Is my decision to pursue an HR specialization correct? Please guide me!

Regards,
Hena

Dear Hena,

Symbiosis can be opted if you wish to pursue an online degree, but I suggest you consider an executive program as it will be much better in contrast with online options.

Hena, Symbiosis would be a better choice for you compared to ICFAI, as it offers good study material in HR and marketing. Generally, admissions take place in April and May every year. You can find more information at Symbiosis Centre For Distance Learning, Distance Education, India.

I hope the above information is helpful to you. For further assistance, you can reach me at 09958785842.

Symbiosis is definitely better. There are other options available too. For example, IGNOU has been awarded the No. 1 prize for the best courseware in Asia. Other options include:

- AIMA, Lodhi Road
- Indian Law Institute, Bhagwan Das Road
- Indian Society of Training and Development
- ISABS, Hauz Khas, Delhi
- Surya

Hi Sumiv!

As far as your question is concerned, both institutes are good. I am pursuing my MBA from ICFAI Business School in HR. This is my 4th semester, and I have found the course books very good.

Both are good for distance learning. Symbi is less expensive. However, I would recommend you seriously consider the time that you might spend on a correspondence course. Will you have enough time? I may sound discouraging, but a reality check is what most of my friends missed to do.
