ESI Wage Ceiling Increase: Has Anyone Seen the Official Notification Yet?

Recently, there was news regarding the enhancement of the ESI wage ceiling limit from Rs. 15,000 per month to Rs. 21,000 per month. I kindly request a copy of the notification if available, as I have not come across it yet.

Sir, the appropriate government (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Central Govt.) as per information I could ascertain, has not so far issued notification of intention regarding enhancement of wage ceiling under ESI (Central) Rules, 1950. If required, you can confirm the same from said government.

ESI wage ceiling limit has been increased from ₹15,000/pm to ₹21,000/pm. I request a copy of the notification if available. Please forward the same.

The existing wage limit for coverage under the Act is Rs. 15,000 per month (w.e.f. 01/05/2010). There is no official notification yet from the Government regarding the enhancement of the wage ceiling limit from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 21,000.

Sir, the Central Government has now issued a draft notification regarding the enhancement of the wage ceiling under the ESI Act, 1948. A copy of the Gazette Notification dated 06-10-2016 is attached herewith for the kind information of the members of this forum.
