I understand your position. Here are some things you can begin with:
1. Understand which companies they idealize or want to be like. Help them to be specific by suggesting names of a few companies, whether competitors or well-known MNCs according to them. Use their standards and benchmarks whenever you need to suggest a new change.
2. Begin by giving your HR policies a new look and feel. Ensure they are approved and communicated to each employee. These policies must then be adhered to by everyone.
3. Look at your organizational structure and reshape it if needed.
4. Develop Job Descriptions (JDs), Competencies, Key Result Areas (KRAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and a Performance Management System.
5. Utilize the Behavioral Event Interviewing technique for interviewing new candidates.
6. Create a Learning and Development plan for everyone.
7. Develop a plan to upgrade the HR team by having them attend HR field-related training programs. A strong and knowledgeable HR team can contribute in a significant way.
There's a lot you can do. All the best.
