New to Pharma HR: Struggling with Minimum Wage Issues – Any Advice?

Please note that for the Pharma Industry, there are no Minimum Wages yet established. However, for other industries, this regulation is in place. In the forthcoming year, the government is expected to pass legislation specifically for the Pharma Industry. Therefore, you can choose the option that is most favorable for management.

Dear Mr. Raghav,

Pharma is a scheduled industry. There is a GO already. Consumer Price Index Numbers will be changed every six months, i.e., in April and September. However, it will be notified after two months. The Cost of Living Allowance is to be added to the Basic Wages as notified in the GO. Cost of Living Allowance will be calculated based on the increase in CPI numbers.

Now, the minimum wage for an Office Boy is Rs. 3244/- for 26 days.
