Sandwich Leave Dilemma: Does a Half-Day Saturday Make Sunday Count as Leave?

I just have a query regarding Sandwich Leave. Suppose an employee is on leave from Monday to Friday, and before that week, Saturday is a working day, and he took a half-day for Saturday. Will Sunday be counted as leave since it is sandwiched between working days? Please clarify my doubt.
