Night Shift Labor Laws for Women: What Are the Rules on Cab Services?

Can anyone guide me on what the labor laws are for a woman working night shifts, especially regarding cab facility or pick-up and drop-off services? Is there any specific act for this? If you have any relevant documents, please forward them to me.

Women are basically not allowed to work from dusk to dawn. However, industries can apply for an exemption provided they are able to take care of their safety.

Hi Madhulika,

You need to take exemption under Act 1958, Section 30 of the Shops & Establishments Act 1958. Also, you need to provide adequate security and proper transport facility to women workers during night shifts.
