Is There a TCS Policy on Rescinding Resignation and Staying for 6 Months?

Hi, I am currently serving the notice period with TCS. In between, TCS has given me some good retention offers, and now I am ready to stay. I just wanted to know if there is any policy in TCS where, if you take back your resignation, you are required to stay with the company for a particular period (let's say 6 months) during which you can't apply for resignation again. I think there is a policy with Infosys where once you take back your resignation, you can't apply for the same in the next 6 months.

Dear Yogesh,

Normally, a resignation can be withdrawn at any time before it is accepted.

Unless your resignation is accepted by the company, the resignation letter can be withdrawn. Regarding non-application within the next 6 months, it may vary from one company to another. As far as I know, there is no law that bars you from tendering resignation once again within a specific period from the date of withdrawal of your earlier resignation.

Apart from the above, the employer can retain their employee on mutually agreed terms. Please go through the terms agreed upon. If it states that you cannot resign for a particular period, then you have to adhere to it.

But you have to write to TCS mentioning the retention salary offered. Because of the same, you are requesting to treat the resignation letter dated so and so as canceled. If they send you an acceptance letter, you will face difficulties.
