Are Second Shift Workers Required to Work 9 Hours Like Other Shifts? Seeking Advice

Dear All,

In our organization, we have three shifts: Morning, General, and Second. My query is for morning (6.30 to 3.30) and general (9 to 6), we are working for 9 hours, and for the second shift (3.30 to 12), it is 8.30 hours. So, is there any rule for the second shift to work for 9 hours?

Please advise.

For any shift timings you observe the following: The total hours shall not exceed 8 and a half hours. The lunch break shall not exceed 30 minutes. Except for the General shift, I and II shifts shall not overlap as per the Factories Act.
