Considering a Career Shift to IT: Is It Okay to Adjust My Graduation Year?

Ppushpaamar.999@gmail.com
Hello, I am Pushpa, a BE 2012 pass out. I have 1.5 years of experience in non-IT. Now, I am thinking of transitioning to the software field. If I mention 2013 pass out, will there be any issue? Can you please assist me?

Dear Pushpa,

That would be misappropriation of data. Please avoid doing it at all costs.

I request you to share the reason for such a consideration. We might be able to find a better way out.

How do you expect it will help?

The first interview you do, they will ask for your certificate, and they will see you have falsified the data and throw you out division. You first 2012 experience of 1.5 years. it is non-IT experience. Even if you wear to change the year 2013, you would still be considered for sure because your experience is non-IT. So how exactly would it help to falsify your pass out year?

My views are in line with those already expressed. Whatever has been your experience in non-IT, you would have definitely learned something during this period. This can be technical, commercial, behavioral, or related to your job. Carefully make a note of these to answer a most likely question in any interview. You should state the fact that instead of idling, you have gained some experience and also acquired some learning. This will be appreciated. It depends on your presentation skills during the interview.
